Benefits

Membership in the Apartment Association of Metropolitan Pittsburgh brings a variety of great benefits to the multifamily professional. From networking opportunities to special programs, AAMP has plenty to offer:

Special Services

As an AAMP member, you are entitled to variety of special services and discounts that the Association offers.

These include a variety of premium insurance programs: health, dental and eye coverage, group life and disability, worker’s compensation, general liability and more.

Networking

The opportunity to meet with other members is one of the greatest benefits of membership in the Apartment Association of Metropolitan Pittsburgh. From General Membership meetings and other social outings to the annual Vendor Trade Show and educational seminars, AAMP members have plenty of opportunities to increase professional contacts and network with others in the multifamily housing industry.

Marketing and Promotion

AAMP gives members plenty of ways to gain exposure with advertising, marketing and promotional opportunities. The AAMP Newsletter, The Builder Bulletin, The Consumer Housing Handbook and The Member Guide offer discounted advertising rates for members and are a great promotional tool for owners and vendors.

Members also can sponsor Association activities for a nominal fee.

Government Affairs

No one has more of an impact on the way we do business than the government. And no other professional business organization is as committed to Government Affairs as the Apartment Association of Metropolitan Pittsburgh.

AAMP takes a lead role in grassroots lobbying at the local, state and federal levels and the Association’s efforts have helped protect the rights of multifamily housing professionals for more than 30 years.

HIRG

The Housing Industry for Responsible Government (HIRG) is the Association’s political action committee. HIRG helps to strengthen the Association’s involvement in the political arena by providing financial support to pro-housing candidates and serving as a source of information on matters related to election campaigns and political endorsements.

Part of HIRG’s political education and fund-raising efforts include social activities and events like the popular Dinner and Theater series as well as political receptions.

The Association

The Apartment Association of Metropolitan Pittsburgh was founded in 1971 and is considered the official voice of the industry in the region. The Association is comprised of apartment owners, managers, investors, financial institutions, suppliers, subcontractors, utilities and builders in the multifamily housing industry.

Our primary purpose is sharing knowledge to build the industry. We focus on member education, legislative and regulatory action and promoting apartment living in Pittsburgh and western Pennsylvania.

The Apartment Association of Metropolitan Pittsburgh is an equal opportunity trade organization and adheres to all applicable local, state and federal laws with regard to its membership, employment and other activities.

Our Code

Members agree to be bound by the following Code of Ethics as found in Article IV of the Association bylaws

    1. Members and Affiliates shall constantly seek to promote the benefits of and improve the quality of apartment living
    2. Members and affiliates shall not obtain any business by means of fraudulent statements or by the use of
      implications unwarranted by fact or reasonable probability.
    3. Members and Affiliates shall comply both in spirit and letter with rules and regulations prescribed by law and government agencies for the health, safety and progress of the community.
    4. Members and affiliates shall not perform or cause to be performed any act which would tend to reflect adversely upon or bring into disrepute the multifamily housing industry or any part thereof.
    5. Members and affiliates shall at all times share their knowledge in multifamily building and management with the Association and its members and affiliates.
